The words

Lyrics

Intro

Another lovely day Another familiar driveway

Verse 1

Tones go off around nine Lift assist, no injury this time Down the street and around the bend Pulling up to our old friend Found you sitting by the bed Nothing hurts, you didn't hit your head Little boost and you're standing tall No need for the hospital

Pre-Chorus

Check your pressure Check your pulse Everything looks fine Help you to your favorite chair And have you sign the line

Chorus

See you tomorrow Same old house and same old floor See you tomorrow We'll come pick you up once more You don't need the ER Everything looks fine We'll tuck you in your favorite chair And see you one more time See you tomorrow

Verse 2

Tuesday morning, there you are We don't even need the GPS in the car Know the driveway, know the door Know the rug you've fallen on before Wednesday afternoon at three Your little dog remembers me He doesn't bark, he knows the drill We lift you up and check you still Thursday night, we're back again We're getting pretty good at this, my friend You wave hello from on the ground We grab an arm and turn you around

Pre-Chorus

Check your pressure Check your pulse Everything looks fine You know exactly where to sign We've done this several times

Chorus 2

See you tomorrow Same old house and same old floor See you tomorrow We'll come pick you up once more No new pain No injury No reason for a ride We'll put you in your favorite chair And wave a sweet goodbye See you tomorrow

Bridge

We know the code to your front door We know which rug you've tripped on before We know the dog We know the cat We know exactly where your slippers are at We know the hallway We know the stairs We know the spot beside your favorite chair We know your stories We know your name And somehow every visit Ends exactly the same

Breakdown

Up you go! Ba-ba-ba! There you are! Shoo-be-doo! Feeling good? Ba-ba-ba! Sign right here! See you soon!

Chorus 3

See you tomorrow Same old house and same old floor See you tomorrow We'll come pick you up once more Monday, Tuesday Wednesday too Thursday we'll be back with you Friday, Saturday Come what may We'll probably see you anyway See you tomorrow Everything will be all right See you tomorrow Have yourself a lovely night No need for the ER Everything looks fine We'll tuck you in your favorite chair And see you one more time See you tomorrow

About this song

Spend enough time in EMS and eventually certain addresses stop feeling like addresses.

You just know where you're going.

“See You Tomorrow” is for the frequent-flier lift assist — the familiar patient who occasionally needs a little help getting back off the floor.

After enough visits, the routine becomes remarkably familiar.

You know the driveway.

You know the front door.

You know the hallway.

You know the chair.

Eventually, even the dog knows you're not worth barking at anymore.

But familiarity doesn't mean assuming every visit is the same.

You still check.

Did they hit their head?

Does anything hurt?

Is anything different this time?

When everything checks out and they don't need a trip to the hospital, you help them back up, get them comfortable, finish the paperwork and head back toward the truck.

After enough visits, the goodbye starts to change too.

“Take care” becomes “See you tomorrow.”

It's partly an EMS joke.

But there's something strangely warm about it too.

These are people crews can come to know — their routines, their stories, their pets, their favorite chair and all the little details you accumulate one lift assist at a time.

So naturally, that recurring little slice of EMS life became an aggressively cheerful ska-pop song.

Up you go.

Everything looks good.

Sign right here.

Have yourself a lovely night.

See you tomorrow.
