Mommy packed my little bag Towels, snacks, and toys Big sun shining way up high And lots of beachy noise Tiny toes inside the sand Ocean waves say “shhh” Mommy says the sunny days Are perfect days for this Beach day with Mommy! Toes inside the sand! Mommy says the ocean breeze Feels better than a fan! Beach day with Mommy! Sunshine everywhere! Mommy says my floppy hat Protects my baby hair! Beach day with Mommy! All bundled up with care! Today it’s super hot outside But I won’t get sunburned anywhere! Mommy says the sunshine’s sneaky And it burns from head to toe So she dressed me for December When it’s ninety-nine out though Everybody else wears swimsuits Tank tops by the shore I’ve got socks and long sleeve PJ’s Mommy says “You still need more!” Beach day with Mommy! I feel sleepy now… Everybody’s looking weird But I don’t know how Beach day with Mommy! Mommy says I’m fine But the lifeguard’s walking over For the second freaking time Beach day with Mommy! They just brought me to the shade A lady says “She’s overheating…” My mommy looks afraid Now the nice man checks my forehead Mommy says “She’s just tired!” But somebody says “It’s way too hot” And then things get pretty dire Now there’s ice packs in my shoulders Cold towels on my head Mommy says I got a little worried When she stopped lifting up her head “Temp keeps climbing…” “Grab more ice…” “Get some fluids…” “Something’s not quite right…” “Get the monitor…” "Keep those ice packs on her head" “Let's cool her down..” "She's a little too red..." Beach day with Mommy! Now I ride the ambulance! Flashing lights and beeping noises Everybody looks intense! Beach day with Mommy! Nice medic gives me juice! Mommy says “I feel so bad…” While I throw up on my shoes! Beach day with Mommy! Now the truck goes WEE-OOO WEE! Honestly this whole experience Feels pretty fun to me!
